Sword Lengths
I have done some research and have not been able to find an answer to my question and I am sure I know why.
Is sword length taken into account for battles? For example is the long sword longer then the phoenix blade and therefore has a farther reach. (This could be useful with hundred blades for example). I could not find any info so I assume sword length is not taken into account. I think it should be though. Why call a sword "Long Sword" if the length is not considered in battle? EDIT - I would like to see length of a weapon considered in a future update. I long sword might be a good counter weapon to a shorter weapon like a hammer. Sure there are counters and skills a hammer could use (knockdown) but if the long sword had a greater reach it might prove a good weapon against a hammer warrior in pvp. While it would be very interesting to see how it affected things i could see there being alot of troubles keeping everything in balance.
Spose there could be a similar system as with bows, ie, as reach of the sword increased the rate of attack decreased. |

It wouldn't mesh well with skill and game mechanics.
It would also break the balance between the different melee weapons even within the same weapon type... It would have to be implemented with more complicated limitations and mechanics like Speed Reduction and Two-handed swords/axes or even varying dmg ranges for certain typesof swords and axes. |

If the length of the sword is to be taken in consideration so must the weight of the sword.
i.e. Longer = more metal slower arc and possibly two handed attack speed should be slower Shorter = less metal smaller but faster arc attack speed should be faster. Too hard to implement for little gain. |
